Im still trying to learn Illustrators awkward interface, prefered other vector apps in the past (eg, Corel Draw many years ago, and Freehand more recently) .. but here is a sample of vector work:

very good, i reckon you could now do it in a few minutes
with AI-CS2 Live Trace and Live Paint;

i tried it once, very fast and accurate, from bmp to vector, seems almost like cheating,

Yeah just been playing around with there live trace feature, one of the aims though was to reduce the file size. I think with live trace it may create lots of vector points? Im still getting rendering problems ( that is not clean shaped lines, notice the bumpy edges)...



The vector AI file size for live trace version is over 2meg, the hand drawn is about 566k (although its not finished yet) :)

The next test will be to paste into flash and see if there are some interesting results

i have not done a full exercise, (may soon), but i hear this sort of work can now be done in Photoshop cs and above, with Pen Tool and Shapes.
